Have You Ever Called Your Own Business?
May 9, 2018
Here’s a test. Pretend to be a customer calling to book a party or sign up for a special event at your business. 1. Is the phone answered after-hours? Amazingly, this is a real choke-point in the booking process. Many times, phones are not answered and voicemail picks up. A lot of prospects give up here. In our experience, over 40% of orders are placed “after-hours.” 2. If your phone is answered, does the person who answers at your business have all the details needed to take that persons order right now, or, do they transfer to another person or take a message? More prospects give up at this stage. How many calls does it take your staff to book an event? How many manual steps are involved? Returning calls, taking the order, processing the order, sending the follow up confirmations, etc.? Is there room for miscommunication in this process? Here’s the key point with the Internet, customers have more options than ever before. With a click they can find you, or your competitor down the street, just as easily. With all these choices, people have less patience for jumping through hoops. When they are in the mood to spend money, they want to do it quickly and efficiently and that means “right now.” More and more this means they bypass the phone and the wait and delay that often means. Can a booking process reliant on the phone mean lost customers in a world where your target customers are online? Absolutely. It happens daily. Chances are you will never know about the orders you lost online. There is an easy and effective way to turn this around for your business. Click here to find out more about our services!...
Stuck Between New Ideas and Old Habits?
May 14, 2018
Are you stuck in the middle between doing things the old way and trying something new? We’ve heard of so many situations, where the new manager is full of ideas and wants to try new things, however, the old guard is happy with the status quo and stubbornly asks, “Why should we change?” This often leads to the new manager feeling disappointed and frustrated, because the current management just doesn’t get that people are online, which therefore means that the marketing outreach needs to change. After all, the Internet, and all it brings, is causing the biggest disruption in how business is being done since the printing press! The old boss wants the new manager to spend more time on community outreach, driving around speaking to groups, etc. Not that this is bad in itself, but when you consider that 40% of all orders are made after traditional business hours, is the top priority really to spend more time and gas driving around? Wouldn’t it make sense to button up the web-strategy and appeal to those 40% of consumers who log-on and start spending money when they get home from work? The new manager gets it. He or she is Internet savvy, stays up-to-date on the latest trends and can tell from customer calls that people are frustrated by the “wait and delay” involved in making a phone booking. This person sees that more and more businesses are offering online booking, and that it just makes things so much easier. They are wondering when the owners are ‘going to see the light.’ But for now, all the new manager can do is shake their head in frustration. Are you an owner, manager, or key member of the party staff who understands the critical importance of closing the sale quickly before other offers and distractions capture their attention? If so, shake, rattle and roll… do whatever it takes to change the status quo! If you’d like to find out more information about services, then click here!...
Death by PDF Forms
May 18, 2018
Summer camp season is nearly upon us, but is your business prepared for it? Are you being swamped by summer PDF forms? If you don’t already have an online registration system for it, then you really are missing out. The good news is that you’ve decided to host a summer camp this year, which is a win-win situation for parents with bored children to entertain during the summer, and for you as a business to get some extra customers through your doors – perfect! Well, that is until you’re drowning in paperwork from all the admin work you have to do to process the orders. This is mainly because many businesses tend to just have a PDF registration form for parents to fill out, which is, let’s be honest, a tedious task both for you and your customer. It has to be printed, filled-out, sent back and then processed. This isn’t the most time efficient way to do it and it leaves plenty of room for human error to occur, such as forms getting lost or misplaced. There’s a plethora of online summer camp registration software out there and a lot of them are quite generic. What you need is something specifically tailored to your needs. The great thing about Partywirks is that it’s not just an online booking system for your parties,. Personalized forms can be integrated into your online reservation system to include not just summer camp registration forms, but also forms for lessons, seasonal events, off-site events, private events, etc. You can design your forms to suit your needs. You can find out if a child has an allergy and which medication they need to use, for example. Do you want parents to pay online at the same time that they’re registering? No problem. If you’d like more information, then don’t hesitate to contact us....
Redirect Advertising Dollars for Party Growth
May 23, 2018
The good news is that advertising is much cheaper than it used to be. Remember the days of hefty bills for Yellow Page ads, or ads in the local paper? Now, a lot of consumers have shifted away from print and Yellow Pages ads to free services like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Yelp, and others. Today, savvy business people are re-thinking and re-directing their ad budgets towards capturing online customers. However, generating ‘interest’ online is only part of the process. Interest and buying urges are fleeting – they’re gone in a flash. Have you been there yourself? … One second you are totally focused on something, then poof, something else on the web or around the house catches your attention and you are gone maybe never to return. Consider this, the next time you are watching TV, take note of how many TV ads stress a company’s ability to serve customers online. Whether it is Esurance talking about how easy it is to buy their insurance, or the convenience of online car rental from Hertz, or that you should book a trip with Travelocity. Ease of use and 24/7 convenience are the new benchmarks for winning customers. Making it as easy as possible for your customer to do business with you is the key to success. Is All Online Booking Software the Same?
May 30, 2018
There are many software companies that are trying to sign you up for their online booking software, but what are the key differences? Any business person experienced in making software purchases knows that there are a lot of differences with various software packages. And many of them offer you a variety of features that you don’t necessarily need. The key is to find something that does exactly what you need, not what you think you might need. It’s important to really do your research when it comes to deciding which online booking software you’re going to choose. If you are currently deciding to which provider to choose right now, here are a few key points that set Partywirks apart: No contracts Most, if not all, software vendors require you to sign multi-year contracts. This is great for them, but not so great for your business. Why would they require this? To lock you in and limit your choices. What happens after you sign a contract and then start using their software? What happens if you don’t like it or it does not fit your needs? With a contract your options are limited. This is not the case with Partywirks. No contracts means you retain your freedom to try something new with no risk of a lock-in contract. Customize product add-ons With Partywirks you have complete control over which add-ons are offered with specific party packages. You can tailor your add-on choices to compliment whatever package your customer is interested in booking. Typically our customers report add-on sales increases from 50% to 200%. No need to create another online account Don’t you already have enough passwords and logins to remember? Why stop customers in the middle of the booking process to create yet another online password and login? Many of our competitors require your clients to create a new login & password mid-way through the check-out process. Partywirks does not require any passwords or logins. Built-in Customer Service Forms Only Partywirks offers options for people who visit, but are not yet ready to book. Other software vendors give your prospect no options but to book or leave. We want to capture them no matter what stage of the planning process they are in. Partywirks Customer Service forms do a great job of doing that. Social Media We emphasize to our clients that they should add features to allow customers to make bookings via social media. And if you’re not so familiar with social media, then we’re here to give you support and we can even manage your account for you, if you wish. Service Talk with our customers and they will use words like “we love Partywirks”, “their service is the best”, “fast, responsive, attentive” and “they help me with more then online booking… Partywirks looks at my entire online business and helps me understand how they all work together.” Recommended We are the only online booking system that is recommended by the Bowling Proprietor’s Association of America (BPAA) and as such we are part of this national trade association’s Smart Buy program. Furthermore, we are listed and endorsed by the Roller Skating Association International (RSA), which is another national trade association. These are just a few of the key differences between Partywirks and other systems you may be considering. If you’d like to find out more about our services, then please click here....

Adapting to Change: Hiring Summer Vacation Staff
June 1, 2018
Finding summer job staff is a pretty tough task nowadays, but there may be a way to make it a little easier. If you’re finding it hard to recruit summer staff, then don’t worry too much – you’re not the only one. Many companies that traditionally received many summer job applications are now struggling to find teens to fill these roles. In one article, a fast-food restaurant owner said: “Hiring has been more challenging in the last two years than probably the previous 10.” According to research, there has been a general decline in the number of teens looking for summer jobs over the years, and this is by and large due to teenagers signing up to summer classes, or focusing more on education generally, rather than looking for jobs. And it doesn’t look like it’s going to get easier anytime soon. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has projected that this trend will continue at least until 2024. Since there doesn’t seem to be an end for this trend in sight for now, how is your business adapting to this change? Some employers are trying to change tactics and have offered incentives to attract and retain staff. But once potential recruits are attracted to your job advertisement, what’s the easiest way to get them to take action and to organize the applications that you’ll receive? Teenagers typically spend a lot of time online and they generally want things to happen – now! So an easier way to retain their attention would be to get them to apply online, rather than go through the tedious task of printing out an application form then having to send it back somehow. Furthermore, rather than manually organizing your interview schedules once you’ve received applications, why don’t you set up a schedule online, where your recruits can sign up to available time-slots to come in for an interview? You and your recruits would know instantly exactly when and at what time the interview would be held, and this would help you to focus on more pressing tasks. These are more time efficient methods for both you and your recruits, and are great ways to help your business adjust to change. Partywirks offers a great way for your business to not only reserve parties online, but to also receive applications and schedule interviews. Knott’s Scary Farm, part of Knott’s Berry Farm, uses our online reservation system to schedule interviews, but since they’re not due to host interviews for now, you’re not able to see how the scheduler works. Even so, here’s an example of a live application form: The Alley Hutchinson If you’d like to find out more about our services, feel free to contact us....

OK, so maybe we’re not talking about an actual fear of talking over the phone, but this is a tongue-in-cheek way of describing the reluctance of talking on the phone, and it’s definitely a trend that you should already be aware of if you want your business to continue to thrive. It’s not that people are averse to using their mobile phones. On the contrary, an increasing number of people are using mobile devices more than ever before. The ‘issue’ is that with the prevalence of smart phones, people are choosing to use their phones in a non-traditional way. People want answers to questions, to book holidays, to set up dating profiles, to share funny jokes with their friends – and they want to do this – now! According to an article, Millennials, those roughly aged between 22 and 37, particularly don’t like making phone calls. Think especially about the mothers within this age bracket who are trying to book birthday parties for their kids. Well, a large section of your market apparently likes to avoid making calls like the plague, and this is due to two simple things: time and efficiency. Why take time dialing a number, waiting for someone to answer, maybe being put on hold, perhaps having to repeat yourself several times before you can actually make your order, when you can cut down this process to a few clicks of a button without the awkward interaction. Or what’s going to happen if, God-forbid, there are certain times of the day when your business isn’t open, such as late at night? Next. So, what does this mean for your business? It means that people are impatient, and if you want to stay on top of your competition, then you have to stop resisting change. Don’t stick your head in the sand and ignore what’s happening around you. A simple ‘Book Now’ button could help to make all the difference.
